On Wednesday, 10/8/2014, at approximately 10:10 the Engineering building data center suffered a brief power outage. This occurred during routine maintenance of our Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) system and caused all servers and equipment within the data center to lose power. DoIT staff worked to restore services based on our disaster recovery plan. By 11:00am many services were restored including:
- Wireless connectivity
- Internet access
- Off campus services including Box and Google services
- Active Directory shared drives and services
- Blackboard
As of 12:15 MyUMBC and locally hosted mail services have been restored. UMBC's GMAIL service was not impacted.
Peoplesoft services are currently being restored and we expect to be fully operational later this afternoon.
