Just a quick update for your Tuesday morning.
Polls are Back!
Yup. pretty much that. You can now include polls on your Posts. They work just like they used to. Snazzy.
Promotion Tweaks
People seem to be figuring out how to create promotions, which is good.Overall the response is pretty good, but we're a little concerned about people showing a lack of restraint. So we made the following tweaks:
- Promotions now require 5 days between promotions. Up from 3.
- Institutional groups now get 10 future promotions. Down from 15.
- Student Org groups now get 3 future promotions. Down from 5.
In addition to these tweaks we've added the following text to the promotion creation page:
Promotions are shared community resource. Please use sparingly.
Don't be greedy and promote OVER and OVER.
It might be very important to you. It's probably not as important to everyone else.

We know it's summer and there isn't a lot going on, but we don't want bad habits on the use of promotions to start now.
If things get really noisy after the start of the semester we're exploring other options.
