Information on being a volunteer:
During the fall, you won't have to do much - just expressing your interest, and waiting for us to reach out to you. Around/during winter break, you'll be completing training. Training this year is online and asynchronous, with one final in-person training session the first week of the Spring 2022 semester - this is when you'd be taking the certification exam. Tax-preparing sessions will occur throughout February, March, and April. You can also volunteer with us without having to file taxes and take the exam. In that case, you'd be helping with client intake, signing in, etc. All volunteers will be asked to do at least five 4-hour shifts. Emails will be sent later in the semester to register for being a volunteer.
I know that it seems like an intense experience, and might be intimidating. You'll have tons of people around to answer your questions - plus, it's really fun!
