Russian Club Presents: New Year's Eve Ball

The UMBC Russian Club, with support from The Department of Modern Languages, Linguistics, and Intercultural Communication present an evening inspired by Dostoevsky’s famous quote—“Beauty Will Save the World,” on Sunday, December 10th, 5pm to 9:30pm in The University Center Ballroom.
Guests will view selections from the art exhibit One Hundred Years Later: Impressions, selections from The Nutcracker, performed by the Classical Ballet Theatre of Maryland, designs from the Luxury Holiday Season Gown collection by celebrity designer, Iryna Mologoko of MILA Fashion, as well as folk music performances by the St. Petersburg Trio of the Washington Balalaika Society. There will also be performances from ballroom dancers, the UMBC Russian Choir, and folk groups Lada by The Metaphor Academic Center for Russian Language and Culture, and Kalinka.
International food will be provided by Silk Road Restaurant of Baltimore.
The evening will begin with a light dinner and a gallery walk. Performances will follow dinner, followed by an open dance floor.
Tickets are free for UMBC students and 5$ for non-students.
Business casual dress code, but ballroom attire encouraged.
