Ricky Blissett
Associate Director
Center for Democracy and Civic Life, UMBC
October 2, 2024 | 12:00-1:00pm | University Center 310 | UMBC Main Campus
The
UMBC Department of Education Research Seminar series continues with a presentation by Dr. Ricky Blissett of the UMBC Center for Democracy and Civic Life. Dr. Blissett will explore what it means to address racism
and move toward justice through policy design, with a focus on race
conscious policymaking. Critical to this conversation are the
intertwined histories of the U.S. education system and modern day Asian
America, and participants will come away with nuanced understandings
that help us navigate some of our most challenging current political
controversies in education.
All members of the
department, partners/collaborators, and students/faculty from other departments and institutions are invited to attend. Lunch will be provided by the department. Please RSVP by completing this form by 1 October:
