Dr. Penniston traces the evolution of a research agenda from experiential learning and student development through course design and learning analytics to generative AI, asking a simple question: if a student clicks and there is no learning, who cares? It argues for designing learning environments that generate meaningful evidence, then using those signals to scale student-specific scaffolding for self-regulated learning and cognitive growth.

All members of the department, partners/collaborators, and students/faculty from other departments and institutions are invited to attend.  Lunch will be provided by the department.
