Student and Faculty Discussion on the Philosophy of Addiction
Center for Ethics and Values in collaboration with PhilAnon
Tuesday, February 17, 2026 · 7 - 8 PM
The Center for Ethics and Values will be holding a student and faculty discussion during the weekly PhilAnon Meeting on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 in PAHB 456 at 7:00pm.
To prepare for the upcoming Evelyn Barker Memorial Lecture, What Would You Do Alone in a Cage with Nothing but Cocaine? A Philosophy of Addiction, we will be focusing on a paper, "Craving for Drugs" by Hanna Pickard.
You are welcome to come even if you don't have time to do the reading, or only have time to to do part of it, though you will no doubt get more out of the discussion if you've read the article.
Please sign up by Monday, February 16th, 2026. This will help us in planning food.
This event is open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.
