Please be aware that there is about a month left before the February 16th deadlines for the internal SURFF Summer 2024 and START 2024-2025 seed funding programs:
- Supports tenure-track UMBC faculty members who have not yet received tenure in pursuing research and creative achievement projects during the summer. Priority will be given to faculty members who have not previously received SURFF/SFF funding.
- $8,000 toward the recipient's Summer 2024 salary
- Supports full-time, PI-eligible members of the UMBC faculty, at the assistant rank and above, to advance their research and creative achievement endeavors, to compete more effectively for external support, and to pursue new areas of inquiry.
- Priority will be given to those who have not received START awards in recent years, and prior recipients are ineligible to apply for three years after the end date of their last START award.
- Up to $25,000 for the 2024-2025 academic year
