The objective behind this Town Hall (as well as our two upcoming special summer Senate meetings) is to ensure that we as faculty are actively involved in the ongoing discussions about the immediate and longterm impact of COVID-19 on our campus and in our working lives. Our feedback, the questions we ask, and the issues/concerns we raise now are a vital part of this process.
I am attaching a list of questions that senators have collected from their departments. Some were raised prior to the June Senate meeting and some have come in afterwards. If you have any additional questions that you would like to add to this list then please contact your senate representative or contact me directly at osmith@umbc.edu before Friday, June 26, at 5 p.m. These questions will be circulated amongst the panelists prior to the event. I will also be using them to formulate some general questions to initiate the discussion. In addition, faculty will have the opportunity to ask questions during the event. Given the time constraints of the Town Hall, it is likely that not all questions will be answered there. However, I promise you that we will try to get all of our outstanding questions answered either at the scheduled special summer Senate meetings or in writing.
Orianne Smith,
Faculty Senate President
