In-person Instruction Resources Town Hall
Dear Colleagues,
Please consider joining us for a Town Hall on Monday, March 1, from 4 – 5:30 p.m. where we will provide further information about the measures that UMBC is implementing to facilitate increased in-person instruction in the Fall 2021 semester while continuing to protect the health and safety of our UMBC community. The facilities team will review our classroom inventory and how it is impacted by the necessary safety protocols. We will also discuss options that are available to increase the number and utilization of instructional spaces. Finally, we will include an overview of potential alternative modes of instruction that faculty may wish to consider, including HyFlex. Our panelists include:
- Lenn Caron, Associate Vice President, Facilities Management
- Julianne Simpson, Director of Planning
- Jack Suess, Vice President and CIO, Information Technology
- Marc Zupan, Associate Professor, Mechanical Engineering
We appreciate all that each of you, your departments and your colleges are doing to plan for a Fall 2021 schedule that works for faculty and students despite the many uncertainties associated with the evolution of the pandemic over the next few months.
