A recent article in the Washington Post about the Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai underwater volcano eruption features contributions fromĀ Susan Strahan (614/UMBC) and Ryan Kramer (613/UMBC). "A new study shows the [January 15th volcanic eruption] released an unprecedented amount of water vapor, a strong greenhouse gas that traps heat on Earth." Dr. Strahan (who was not involved with the study) encourages studying meteorology and chemistry as factors in the effect of the excess water vapor on the stratospheric ozone.
