UMBC News recently featured the research of Emily Faber, GESTAR II Graduate Research Assistant and Ph.D. candidate in Atmospheric Physics. One of her mentors at UMBC is Adriana Rocha Lima. Ms. Faber was selected in 2023 as "one of three fellows with the Weather Program Office Innovation for Next Generation Scientists (WINGS) Dissertation Fellowship, sponsored by NOAA." Through this fellowship, she receives two years of "full funding for her dissertation research and ... a dedicated NOAA mentor."
