Green Dot Institute
We need your help to reduce power-based violence at UMBC
A green dot is any behavior, choice or action that promotes safety for everyone and communicates utter intolerance for sexual violence, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. A green dot is intervening in a high-risk situation – a green dot is putting information about the Office of Equity and Inclusion on your syllabus – a green dot is hanging a prevention poster on your office door – a green dot is attending a bystander intervention training – a green dot is sharing a link to your local prevention program on your social media – a green dot is encouraging the student organization you advise to look at their culture. A green dot is simply your individual choice at any given moment to make our campus safer.
Your contribution is necessary. Your voice is powerful. Your commitment is our hope. Together, let’s end some violence. There’s no day like today. No one has to do everything, but everyone has to do something.
The Green Dot Institute is a "training of trainers." You must commit to attending all four days, in their entirety, to be certified. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. The cost, which will be covered by Student Conduct and Community Standards, is approximately $2000/person. Once trained and certified, you will be asked to be part of the UMBC Implementation Team and present one bystander training and one preview session per year, in addition to bimonthly meetings to strategize how to expand Green Dot at UMBC.
To attend, there is a two-part registration: 1) complete this Google Form, and 2) continue on to complete the registration with Alteristic.
