Green Dot Training
Nobody can do everything, but everyone has to do something
Friday, November 4, 2016 · 1:30 - 4:30 PM
On Campus : Commons 331
Green Dot is built on the premise that in order to measurably reduce the perpetration of power-based personal violence, including sexual violence, partner violence, or stalking, a cultural shift is necessary. In order to create a cultural shift, a critical mass of people will need to engage in a new behavior or set of behaviors that will make violence less sustainable within any given community. The “new behavior” is a green dot.
This extremely interactive session is great for you and your friends to:
- Understand the impact of power-based personal violence on campus and in various communities
- Learn how to identify power-based personal violence and respond within the bounds of your strengths and limitations
- Practice newly developed skills to be prepared for enacting this in your daily life
- Meet new people and strengthen your connection to UMBC
*You must attend both 11/4 and 11/11 sessions to obtain your certificate
