Grad Student Seminar: "PROF-it: Professors in Training"
Project-Based Learning
Graduate students and PostDocs are invited to learn how to use project-based learning to enhance students’ learning experience in the classroom.
Guest Facilitator: Dr. Mariajosé Castellanos, Assistant Professor Chemical, Biochemical, and Environmental Engineering, UMBC.
Dr. Mariajosé Castellanos came to UMBC in 2005, after graduating from Cornell University. She teaches undergraduate classes such as Thermodynamics and Process Engineering Economics and Design, where she uses project-based learning in groups as one of her teaching methods. In addition to her research on modeling biological systems and diseases, she has also devoted energy to improving the quality of the graduate student seminars series. She has mentored a number of graduate and undergraduate students throughout the years.
This is a "Brown Bag" seminar. Please bring your own lunch. Graduate Students and Postdocs are welcome to attend, regardless of interest in the CCBC program. You do not have to be a TA to attend. Please participate in the Blackboard Discussion Forum, especially if you plan to apply for the UMBC-CCBC Teaching Fellows program.
