Grad Students: PROF-it application to teach at CCBC: $2000!

Are you a graduate student or a PostDoc who is interested in obtaining some teaching experience? Were you previously interested, but could not participate in the past? Now is your chance!
Participation in the PROF-it “Professors-in-Training” program, provides graduate students and PostDocs at UMBC with an opportunity to draw upon the partnership between UMBC and the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) to teach a class at one of the campuses of CCBC for the SPRING 2013 semester.
These are paid, mentored-teaching experiences. If accepted, you will be added to CCBC’s payroll and will receive a stipend of $2000, and a faculty member from CCBC will serve as your teaching mentor. You will be required to attend an additional training session (“Public Speaking in the Classroom”) the week of January 22, 2013, and two additional meetings during the semester.

Past UMBC graduate student participants have enhanced their careers by using their experience in this program to obtain full- or part-time faculty positions, opportunities in academic administration, or mentoring positions at CCBC, Towson, Howard County Community College, and Harvard.
