Teaching with Transparent Assignments: An Easy Tool for Boosting Student Performance, Reducing Grading Time, and Improving Inclusivity
Note: This workshop counts as an ASSOCIATE Level CIRTL Workshop!
For those of you who want to be professors, I would love to introduce you to a concept called Transparent Assignment Design. This is a way to construct assignments for students that leads to much better assignments being turned in - that means faster grading for you - and it also reduces equity gaps between populations that historically haven't performed equally.
I have given this workshop to hundreds of faculty, some of which have been teaching for 30+ years, and they always say: "I wish I had known about this sooner!!"
Join me on Friday May 1st, 10am-11am, to learn about this technique and get a chance to practice it. Whether you're teaching now or plan to in the future, you should be able to get a great skill from this workshop.
Please click "going" if you plan to attend and I will email you the information for the webinar on the 30th. Note: if you click "going:" and don't see your name, please email me Rcresisk@umbc.edu so I can be sure to send you the calendar invitation.
