Introduction to Inclusive Teaching Through Case Studies
Counts as an Associate or Practitioner certificate activity!
Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows interested in teaching and learning are invited to this workshop to discuss issues of inclusive teaching. The workshop will use case studies to initiate the discussion focused on areas of Gender/Sexual Harassment, Learning Style, and Academic Preparation.
The case study approach will be used to guide our discussions about this important topic. After reviewing and discussing sample case studies, principles of inclusive teaching will be presented. Further discussion will include strategies to help instructors introduce these principles in their classrooms. This session counts towards the diversity workshop requirement of the Associate or Practitioner level certificate.
This workshop fosters open dialogue where all points of view are respected and all participants’ experiences are valued.
