As a result of the emergency orders issued by Governor Hogan to limit the spread of COVID-19, a campus-wide announcement was issued notifying the campus community that UMBC will be closed on Friday, March 13, 2020. Employees should review the Full-Day Closure section of the Administrative Leave Guidelines located on the Human Resources website (https://hr.umbc.edu/hris/timekeeping-and-leave/). As you review the guidelines for full-day closures, please be mindful of the following:
- The campus is in a status where employees should not be on site; however, if an employee is required to work, they should work remotely if the duties permit working remotely.
- Administrative Leave is applicable to regular and Contingent II employees under the conditions outlined in the guidelines.
Due to the COVID-19 event, employees who do not earn leave may be eligible for other leave options through the University. Detailed information and guidance will be forthcoming. If you have any questions, please email covid19hrresponseteam@umbc.edu.
