Lessons Learned Nudging Students with myUMBC Personal Posts
Scaling the right message to right student at right time
In this presentation, Chemistry faculty Sarah Bass and Tara Carpenter ( with assistance from DoIT’s Tom Penniston ) will describe their collaboration on their Learning Analytics mini grant proposal to nudge more students into using practice as a strategy to prepare for high stakes unit, midterm and final exams. They will also describe and demo how structured messages, tied to student behaviors and performances, helped make a large class smaller by scaling delivery of the right message, to the right student at the right time.
Note: This will be a hybrid event with lunch provided for registered participants (17 max). As such, the seat limit only applies to in-person attendees. A virtual link will be sent to all registered participants the morning of the event.
