Hybrid/Online Course Design Open House/Workshop
What does it mean, and what are best practices?
Wednesday, January 17, 2018 · 10 AM - 2 PM
The Instructional Technology Team will be offering a more informal, "open house" - style workshop for faculty interested in learning more about hybrid and fully online course design.
Participants will learn the principles of good course design, including designing assignments and assessments that help students achieve the identified learning goals and objectives. The concept of "alignment" - relevant for face-to-face, hybrid and online courses - will be discussed. Participants will also learn key terms/definitions associated with the various course delivery formats defined by The National Center for Academic Transformation (NCAT).
Similarities and differences between supplemental, hybrid (replacement), and fully online delivery formats will be discussed. Examples of these delivery formats with best practices implemented will be demonstrated.
Rolling opportunities to engage instructional technology staff on specific, individual questions/issues will be provided.
