ISC is a club made up of both American students and international students who want to serve and befriend the international student community at UMBC. We provide opportunities to learn about each other’s culture, connect with the local community, and develop lasting friendships so that students feel welcome at UMBC.
First, we offer fun! There are a mix of on campus and off campus activities such as game room nights, food making, hiking, apple picking, visiting local landmarks, celebrating holidays, and even having a meal in an American home.
Second, we have volunteers who are willing to pick up or drop off students to the airport, help with local shopping, and provide occasional rides so students can obtain needed documents. We are eager to be a blessing and help you adjust to life in Maryland.
Finally, we provide emotional and spiritual support. We love to talk with you and pray for you. Interested students have the opportunity to visit local churches, to learn about what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
