There was a call for questions for the panel and I submitted the following question, informed by the recent release of this year's listing of LGBTQ Friendly colleges and universities and at the request of a member:
"In the recent national Listing of LGBTQ-Friendly colleges & universities, UMBC received only a 3 out of 5 rating, while other USM institutions like UM, College Park scored 5/5. The index is an overall indicator of institutional commitment to LGBTQ-inclusive policy, program, and practice, including things like health & safety, housing, and the recruitment and retention of black and brown LGBTQ students. In its commitment to creating structural change, what efforts will UMBC be prioritizing for LGBT faculty, staff, and students of color?"
I hope to see you at the conversation.
In solidarity,
Vicki
