Abstract: In this talk I explore how U.S. cultural memory represents processes of white supremacy and settler colonization. Based on an analysis of National Historical Landmarks, I found that the vast majority of Landmarks erase histories of white supremacy and settler colonization, with significant implications for how we think of the development of U.S. territory.
