Please join us for the 4th Annual Black & Latine/x Graduation Celebration on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in The Skylight Lounge, The Commons 3rd Floor. This evening event celebrates the wonderful achievements of UMBC's Black and Latina/e/o/x graduating seniors and graduate students as well as contributing community members.
Light refreshments and appetizers will be served starting at 5:30 pm for all graduates and guests in attendance.
Dress: We ask that all attendees and graduates come in their "graduation best". Cap & gown is not required.
For those interested in attending, you may use the Graduation RSVP Form or https://forms.gle/d1Dxz581dxR2SZu89. Check-in will begin at 5:30 pm for graduates. This form serves to gather RSVPs for graduates, their guests, and our community members. If you are a graduate, there is an opportunity to submit information about your achievements and degrees. Graduates that RSVP prior to Friday, May 3rd will be highlighted during the event and receive honorary graduation cords.
If you would like to nominate a graduate for one of our Black & Latine/x Graduation Awards, you may nominate them here using the Awards Nomination Form or https://forms.gle/6echi7mCZYVKHhDg6. You may submit multiple nominations for the same or different individuals. Please submit all nominations byWednesday, April 24th, at 8pm.
If you're interested in being a part of the Black & Latine/x Award Committee but are not interested in submitting a nomination, please email arjenkins@umbc.edu by April 8th at 5pm in order to be included in the award process.
