Please come and show your support for PLTW!
You are invited to our annual PLTW Engineering Design and Development Capstone Presentations.
These hard working teachers spent the last 12 days developing a new or improving an existing product in today's market.
This class is similar, in nature, to our ME engineering capstone design class.
Description of the class is below:
The knowledge and skills students acquire throughout PLTW Engineering come together in Engineering Design and Development as they identify an issue and then research, design, and test a solution, ultimately presenting their solution to a panel of engineers.
Below are this year's projects:
Summer CTI - EDD - 2018
Group 1- Dirty Dogs
This groups project takes a crack at the age old problem of that dirty dog dragging in the outdoors. How do they accomplish this you ask! Through combining their massive brain power and foresight they looked deep into the future and found a solution. What is it? The Dirty Dog Portal, stop by Thursday and you’ll see how this amazing devices works.
Group 2- Workspace Masters
Can’t find workspace for all your tech, while your on the couch? Through careful observation of other teams working incredibly hard while they sat back and watch while drinking coffee... A lightbulb appeared and out came the Lap WorkStation 3.0; it holds all of your high tech devices and keeps your coffee hot! See it in action Thursday afternoon.
Group 3- Look Out Below
If your like Leroy Shook, you’ll know that a cat on a hot tin roof can’t only stay up there so long. If your a impact gun on a 10/12 pitch, your not going to stay up there too long at all. Group 4- Skimm-a-little Off the Top Please
Pool chores got you down? Tired of walking laps around catching those pesky leaves only to have to start all over again as soon as you finish. Not anymore! The Other Pool Guys have a solution for you. Don’t get your feet wet walking over to check em out Thursday during high tea.
Group 5- Baby Dry Dry Dry No More
Last time you went away on vacation your prize Orchids looked worse for wear when you returned. The hot dry summer makes it hard to get away and leave your prize winning babies to thirst. Well your in luck; these ladies have cracked the code and you too can long in with your cellphone and water away! Come see these beauties (Orchids) in action and never let them down again!
Group 6- Help Me Help Me
Students often wait for a teachers help for several seconds to several minutes. How can they even tell who asked for help first? The whats-it-whose-it-thing-a-ma-bob device solves all the busy teachers problems! Who’s up first and and what’s on second, is a thing of the past. Stop by Thursday for a lesson in lesson efficiency!
