Entering Mentoring: Mentoring Undergraduate Students
Training! Learn how to mentor undergraduate researchers
Wednesday, July 5, 2023 · 11 AM - 1 PM
Online
This event is being hosted by the LSAMP program at UMBC.
All graduate students and postdocs are invited to attend this training. The training is mandatory for those supervising an LSAMP undergraduate researcher in their lab this 2023 summer.
Message from the LSAMP team below:
"Based on its past success, we are going to continue to REQUIRE mentoring training for any of your POSTDOCS or GRAD STUDENTS that will be supervising LSAMP students this summer. If the postdoc or grad student went through the training last year, they are not required to repeat the training. If you as a faculty member are going to be directly supervising the LSAMP student, the training IS NOT required for you. You are welcome to attend if you'd like to.
The training is called Entering Mentoring and it is based on a series of workshops developed through HHMI. Sessions will be facilitated by Jennifer Aumiller, University of Maryland, School of Medicine and Dr. Blessing Enekwe, University of Maryland, College Park.
The training will be VIRTUAL on Tuesdays from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm starting next Tuesday. The sessions will occur on 7/5 and 7/12. We are attaching a flyer and registration link for all who would be able to attend. "
