If you are interested in a teaching career or are actively pursuing the nationally recognized CIRTL certification, please attend this event/discussion. SEA CIRTL Fellows must attend.
This "Effective Instructional Strategies" workshop/discussion will generally serve as a tool to learn different teaching methods and strategies used to engage, assess and motivate students in the classroom for any discipline.
About our speaker:
Dr. Jamie Gurganus, Associate Director of STEMed Research, Faculty in Engineering and Computing Education Program (ECEP) & Mechanical Engineering and Director for the Center for Integrated Research, Teaching & Learning, Dr. Gurganus is an Engineer with a PhD research focus on Engineering Education. Her research interests: Engineering and Design Education, Additive Manufacturing, Design conceptualization, Spatial Reasoning in engineering, Mentoring and mentoring programs in engineering, Service learning in engineering, P-12 & Post-secondary engineering education, Retention of Mechanical Engineering students, engineering learning technologies, diversity in engineering, best practices in educating engineering students, teachers and the community.
