We're crazy excited to finally make it easier for you to use a wider variety of images as thumbnails.
Rejoice! The days of fighting with headshots is over!
You can now select any part of your image, or any aspect ratio, to be your thumbnail. The only limitation is that the selection must be of a certain minimum size shown when you're selecting an area.
The 4:3 size of thumbnails in myUMBC has been set since time immemorial and cannot be easily changed, so we'll take your selection and add a fancy pale, blurred, zoomed-in version of your image to fill out the space. It's kinda fancy. We'll try it on for a little while and see what you all think.
