Friday, February 28, 2014 · 9 AM - 3 PM
Off Campus
Friday, Feb. 28 - Lockheed Martin is working with Featherbed Lane Elementary to plan a 'I Love STEM Day' event. Lockheed is looking for 10-12 volunteers to help out at the interactive stations.
The representative that contacted me would like to have a few engineering students (10-12 or more) from UMBC to share some of their experiences with students through interactive demonstrations as well as providing support at one of the 7-8 stations that will be available to students during the day. In addition, we would like to have the engineering students assist with conducting two classroom activities during the day.
There will be morning assemblies at 9:30am and 10:30am and there will be activities in the afternoon from 12-3pmIn the afternoon, the volunteers will be going to the classrooms to discuss the activities. One activity will focus upon How SMALL is small?; the other will focus on Strength in Lightweight Layers. If you are available to volunteer and drive, please contact Myela Paige (paigemy1@umbc.edu)
Carpooling should be available depending on the amount of people willing to go and willing to drive. This event is about 15 minutes way.
