TITLE: Stability and Noise in Frequency Combs: Harnessing the Music of the Spheres
ABSTRACT: Optical frequency combs have revolutionized the measurement of time and frequency, and that has impacted many engineering applications and basic science studies. Frequency combs have recently been used to generate high-dimensional quantum states (qdits). In this talk, I give an introduction to the study of frequency combs, focusing on how to obtain stable frequency combs and how quantum noise limits their performance.
