The final of two seminars focused on teaching LaTeX and TikZ
Monday, November 20, 2023 · 12 - 1 PM
Advanced Seminar:
This seminar will be held by Dr. Rostamian and is intended as an introduction to using the package TikZ in LaTeX. If you want to expand your LaTeX repertoire, especially if you want to be able to create visuals, this is the seminar for you! We will learn the framework of TikZ, which can be applied to a broad set of purposes, from making graphs to creating state diagrams, even complex geometric visualizations.
Especially helpful for those looking to add visualizations to their writeups, including Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Chemistry related majors.
What is "Learn to Write Science Beautifully"?
Across two one hour seminars, you can go from never having opened a .tex file to being able to complete your assignments, lab reports, research papers, and anything else you want to make in this great document preparation program. Even those experienced in LaTeX will have plenty to learn, especially in the second seminar (TikZ Technical Diagrams) which will be hosted by Dr. Rostamian and will dive in-depth on how to create intricate and complex pictures through TikZ.
We recommend anyone who plans to attend the second seminar to attend the first one, as we will introduce TikZ in more detail then may be provided in the second.
