discussion of the trials and tribulations of
navigating life after the Ph.D. Unlike most of the math/stat faculty at UMBC, Dr. Carolyn Yarnall is a pure
mathematician who has been on the teaching track in her post-Ph.D.
life.
She has experience with and is willing to speak on the following:
- Moving
all over the country several times
- Doing a variety of post-docs
- Living on both coasts
- Working at different types of
institutions
- Navigating the two-body problem
- Working in a
teaching-oriented environment while doing research that differs from the subject of her Ph.D.
