The Department of Mathematics at Towson University will host the 14th Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Research Conference. The conference will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10 am until 5:30 pm on Towson University campus, which is located in the North Baltimore area (registration starts at 9:30 am). We invite undergraduate students (at all levels of their studies in Pure and Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, and Mathematics Education) to present at the conference.
Students can present results of completed original research in mathematical sciences or give an expository talk or give a talk about research projects in progress. They can also just attend the conference (face-to-face or virtually).
Faculty members who would like to attend the conference are also very welcome (face-to-face or virtually).
In addition to student presentations, the conference will feature two invited faculty talks, and an information session on career opportunities for mathematicians.
The conference activities will be held face-to-face with a possibility to attend all the plenary sessions (opening address, career panel, closing address, and the prize session) via Zoom. Students will also have the option to give a talk via Zoom during parallel sessions.
More information about the conference can be found at the conference webpage https://tigerweb.towson.edu/nmcnew/rumrc/.Participants can register by visiting the conference webpage or by going directly to the registration form:The registration is free to all participants. Advance registration is by November 5; regular registration is by November 8. We ask that the participants register in advance or at least by November 5 only because we plan to provide free lunch and snacks, and will need to know how much to order. However, registration will be still accepted after this deadline.
At the end of the conference, there will be a prize session for student participants with a prize-draw.
