November 2012 Postdoctoral "WRITING SUITE"
An opportunity to work on an article, grant, or application
Friday, November 2, 2012 · 9 - 11:45 AM
On Campus : Commons 327
Dear Postdocs at UMBC,
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at UMBC invites all postdocs on campus (all backgrounds, all disciplines) to consider come to campus on Friday, November 2, 2012 for the second "Postdoctoral Writing Suite." Modeled after the PROMISE Dissertation House, the Postdoctoral Writing Suite will provide you with an opportunity to spend some time on an article or manuscript that you are preparing for publication, a grant that you need to submit, or a job application that you need to prepare. In short, it is time away from the library, lab, or department to focus on something that you need to write for your own personal development. Best practices from The Dissertation House show that participants who share goals in a group setting and then have focused time to work on those goals often find that they are able to move closer to completing said goals.
Breakfast refreshments will be served.
This session will be led by Dr. Judith Pollack.
This event (including the breakfast) is free for postdocs. Please login to MyUMBC, and RSVP here (click the "I can attend" button below) and add a comment to mention items that you might work on during the session.
All participants are invited to attend the brown bag PROF-it "Professors-in-Training" Session on "Understanding Learning Styles" from 12 noon to 2:00 PM in Commons 329 on the same day.
Best,
Renetta Tull
