Dr. Aubrey Jackson Soller, Associate Professor and Associate Chair, Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Public Health, will introduce participants to the concept of Social Determinants of Health, the sociocultural forces that impact an individual's health. The context of a patient's environment is critical to informing patient care. Participants will come away from this session with a basic understanding of social determinants of health as well as information on UMBC's Social Determinants of Health certificate program.
