Public Health Leadership Opportunity
United Against Inequities in Disease (UAID) is a 501(c)3 national nonprofit organization that empowers students to eliminate health inequities locally.
Members of UAID benefit from a number of opportunities including:
- Training in health equity with an opportunity to earn a certificate
- Training in designing, executing, and evaluating community health projects
- Real-world experience working to reduce local health inequities
- Leadership opportunities and development of professional skills required by most health professions programs (e.g., AAMC core competencies)
- Experience writing research papers, creating research posters, and presenting research projects
- Monthly mentorship opportunities with experts in public health
- Fulfillment of academic credit, practicum, or capstone requirements
