Eye on Success is a program that exposes underrepresented students to a career in optometry through panels, Q&As, and immersive activities. Eye on Success will be in person and held on SCO's campus in Memphis, TN.
Eye on Success is open to prospective optometry students who meet the following criteria:
- Students who identify as one or more of the following:
- Non-Traditional student
- (older than 25, life and or career experience outside of undergrad, non-science bachelor's degree or major, family responsibilities, or significant gaps between high school and undergrad -more than 2 years)
- Veteran student
- From rural areas less than 5,000 population
- First-Generation College student
- Disabled student
- From economically disadvantaged zip codes in urban or rural areas
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Currently Enrolled in an Undergraduate, Post-Baccalaureate, or Graduate Program. Students in the midst of a gap year are also eligible.
Eye on Success Application Requirements:
- Completed Application
- Copy of Official Transcript
- Personal Statement
If selected for Eye on Success, students will receive:
- $500 Travel Stipend (if applicable)
- Free Housing
- Most Meals Paid
