The Cellular and Molecular Biomedical Science (CMBS) MS Program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Medicine, is an excellent mechanism for students who want to improve their contemporary science credentials. Students who have completed this program have found that their upgraded science credentials facilitated their subsequent admission to Medical School or to Ph.D. programs as well as positions in corporate or government labs.
The program emphasizes medically-relevant scientific research and education, utilizing state-of-the-art resources. Students will become fluent in the study and implementation of biomedical research and will be well prepared as skilled researchers for careers at research centers in academia, government and industry, including biotechnology firms and pharmaceutical companies.
The CMBS program combines traditional areas of biomedical study, including cancer biology, human genetics, molecular and cell biology, genomics, pathology, pharmacology, neuroscience, and physiology into a unique interdisciplinary graduate training program. Specifically designed to develop scientists for the post-genomic era, students will gain knowledge, research skills, and familiarity with the state-of-the-art biomedical tools and methodologies to solve important and timely questions in biomedical science.
If any of your students would like to discuss this opportunity please feel free to contact the CMBS Program Director, Selen M. Catania, PhD scatania@som.umaryland.edu, or Elice García-Baca, the Senior Academic Services Specialist egarcia-baca@som.umaryland.edu.
