Post-bac social justice service learning

This year long service opportunity provides all living expenses and a very small stipend. 

The Recruitment and Placement Manager at Avodah shared a post-grad opportunity for students: the Jewish Service Corps. The Jewish Service Corps is an immersive service year program running September 2024 - August 2025 for emerging changemakers ages 21-26. Participants spend a year serving full-time at a non-profit in Chicago, New Orleans, New York, or Washington, DC while living and learning in a justice-oriented, pluralistic Jewish community. Self-identified Jews of Color (JOCs) have the opportunity to participate in the JOC Bayit, an affinity space within the Jewish Service Corps designed to nurture the leadership and well-being of Jews of Color. We believe that students in your classes would make amazing fits for this program!

 

Service Corps Members are placed full-time at leading nonprofits and contribute to our partners’ work on crucial justice issues such as immigration, education, housing, healthcare, environmental justice, and food insecurity. Corps Members are supported in their work by robust programming that allows participants to explore different visions for movements for justice, the role of community in building a more just world, and how they want to show up as Jewish people in justice work. After the year is over, Corps Members enter our active alumni community for life!
