Student Success Scholarship Applications are OPEN!
Apply before October 31st!
The Office of Residential Life is pleased to announce that applications for the Student Success Scholarship are now open for Spring semester awards.
The Student Success Scholarship is designed to assist current Residential Life students who demonstrate significant financial need and may otherwise be unable to afford housing during the academic year. The scholarship is supported by Residential Life and is intended to help students remain on-campus residents.
Students who are licensed with Walker Avenue Apartments or hired as a Residential Life Paraprofessional for the award period are not eligible for this scholarship.
To be eligible, students must:
- Be a current degree-seeking undergraduate resident.
- Be living in a UMBC-owned and operated hall, suite, or apartment (not Walker Avenue).
- Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
- Be in good academic standing with the University, 2.5 GPA or higher.
- Have completed a FAFSA and demonstrate high financial need.
- Have no judicial record.
Award funds are for the following semester. For students applying during the Fall semester, awarded funds will be applied toward their Spring semester housing balance.
Several scholarships may be awarded each semester. Award amounts will vary based on eligibility and financial need and may range from partial to full semester housing costs, up to but not exceeding the cost of a double room.
The application is open on Scholarship Retriever from October 1–31 for Spring Awards.
