Lesser-Known Programming Languages (New room: ILSB 230)
MUMPS considered harmful
Friday, February 18, 2022 · 5 - 7 PM
Hi all,
It's time to get back to hybrid meetings! We will be meeting in ILSB 230. That is not the same room as last semester. We moved to this new room because it has an additional window, and although we don't like Windows, we like windows.
Tonight's meeting will be about lesser-known programming languages. Some of these, like MUMPS, are stealthy workhorses that keep the world running behind the scenes. Others are just funny.
Obviously, this meeting will be more on the casual side. There's no workshop component planned, but if people find some of the languages interesting, maybe we can download an interpreter or compiler and play around with them. Bring your laptops!
Again, this is a hybrid meeting. We will meet in-person in ILSB 230, and we will also stream it on Jitsi starting at 5PM.
