Hi all!
Today we'll be discussing version control.
Version control, also known as source control, is the practice of tracking and managing changes to software code. Version control systems are software tools that help software teams manage changes to source code over time.
One particular version control system that is quite popular today is Git. You've probably heard of it, perhaps in the context of Github. We'll be going over Git concepts and doing a practical tutorial on it. We'll also cover Gitflow, one particular branching/collaborative model for how to use Git in an organization.
We'll try to have a bit of a workshop component again. Bring your laptops!
This is a hybrid meeting. We will meet in person in ILSB 230, and it will be streamed on Jitsi starting at 5PM.
