Network Attached Storage (NAS)
Wireless Hard Drive?!?!
Friday, April 22, 2022 · 5 - 6:30 PM
Hi Everybody!
Tonight's meeting will be on Network Attached Storage (NAS).
A NAS is a type of server that provides data storage to a network. Their ability to give a network of computers access to the same dedicated storage pool make them very handy to businesses, everyday consumers, and homelabbers alike.
For the meeting itself, we will dive into what makes a NAS a great addition to the home network and/or a fun first hands-on project in the world of SysAdmin. We will also take a look at what's actually going on under the hood, then wrap it up with some awesome self-hosted applications you can use in conjunction with a NAS.
Bring those laptops! We have a pretty cool live demo planned that (if it works...) you don't want to miss!
This is a hybrid meeting. We will meet in person in ILSB 230, and it will be streamed on Jitsi starting at 5PM.
