Our Electric Companies
FirstEnergy’s 10 regulated distribution companies form one of the nation’s largest investor-owned electric systems, based on serving 6 million customers in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions. Stretching from the Ohio-Indiana border to the New Jersey shore, the companies operate a vast infrastructure of more than 194,000 miles of distribution lines and are dedicated to providing customers with safe, reliable and responsive service.
Academic qualifications include:
· Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors attending a 4 year university (must work at least 2 rotations)
· Majors include Engineering (civil, chemical, computer, computer science, electrical, mechanical, and nuclear); Information Technology and Computer Science-related majors; Business Administration; Finance; Accounting; and Supply Chain.
· Minimum GPA of 2.5 (Engineering), Minimum GPA of 3.0 (All other majors)
· U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
The majoring of our need is IT and Engineering. There is often a request for business related majors.
Engineering students participate in co-op rotations and IT and business students participate in summer internships. Our co-op and internship positions are paid, and a housing stipend is available for eligible engineering students living more than 50 miles from their FirstEnergy work location.
