The Social Security Administration’s (SSA) VIP provides non-paid internships for
student volunteers seeking meaningful work experience related to their academic
studies. The work assignment may or may not award academic credit.
The VIP:
• Provides exposure to the work environment as a means of developing
the volunteer’s work ethic;
• Provides an opportunity to become involved in early career exploration; and
• Enhances knowledge in new or developing occupations and professions.
INTERNSHIPS RELATED TO THE FOLLOWING FIELDS OF STUDY:
Accounting, Aging, Business Administration, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, History, Health Administration, Information Systems, Political Science, Law, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, and more.
