I'm honored to be both a part of the planning committee AND a presenter on Saturday, October 17th, for Transform Mid-Atlantic's 2026 Service-Learning & Civic Engagement Conference, Co-Creating Change: Collaborative Community Partnerships at American University, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
This year's keynote is Dr. Natalie Hopkinson, Associate Professor of Media, Democracy and Society at American University and Chief Curator of the Go-Go Museum & Cafe, bringing her decades of work at the intersection of community, culture, and civic power to this year's theme.
The day includes 21 sessions and 40 presenters across workshops, roundtables, panels, and posters, all built around connection, engagement, and energizing conversation for anyone doing community-engaged work, with presenters coming from across our network of institutions in Virginia, Maryland, DC, and Delaware.
This conference has deep roots with The Shriver Center, UMBC. I will be presenting "Microcredentials as a Tool for Community-Engaged Learning and Practice" with this amazing team: UMBC's 2026 Transform Mid-Atlantic Civic Fellow, Senior B.F.A.
