As part of Critical Social Justice Week, SUCCESS is hosting a bake sale on Main Street from 11am-3pm on to promote the “Spread the Word to End the Word” campaign! Visit the group to enjoy some yummy treats while learning more about the campaign against the use of the word "retard(ed)." Pledge to stop saying the R-word as a starting point towards creating more accepting attitudes and communities for all people.
For more info on the event, please read the guest post from ThuyVy Duong, who works with SUCCESS (Students United for Campus-Community Engagement for Post-Secondary Success), a partnership of UMBC and the Maryland Department of Disabilities.
