SPIE is a professional society for those interested in optics and photonics. Believe it or not, optics and photonics are found in nearly every STEM field. From quantum computing to biomedical imaging, there is something for you!

The UMBC SPIE Student Chapter has the mission of providing a space for students across disciplines to share in their appreciation for optics and photonics. We welcome both graduate students, like myself, and undergraduate students into the club. We help students find research groups, publish their work in SPIE journals, and host academic talks here at UMBC.

We are actively recruiting both members and officers! No prior experience is necessary and any motivated student is welcome to run for office!
