We are looking for any student interested in optics to help lead SPIE. Our mission is to unite those interested in optics and photonics on the UMBC campus and provide useful and engaging activities. In our first year of organization, UMBC SPIE has planned a field trip to an SPIE conference, brought outside an speaker to campus, and volunteered with a high school science competition. If that sounds fun or interesting to you, you are qualified! No prior SPIE experience is necessary.
